Stephen Graham and Shira Haas lead the cast of Netflix crime drama Bodies

Netflix will be dropping its high-concept new crime drama Bodies on October 19.

All eight episodes will be available to binge in one go with the series likely to appeal to fans of Netflix’s German sci-fi series Dark.

Bodies is based on the graphic novel by Si Spencer and is being billed by the streaming giant as a “police procedural with a twist”.

The show is set in London with the same mysterious body turning on Longharvest Land in the East End in 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053.

Four different detectives on the case will try to solve this strange corpse and what it all means with the case linked across 150 years.

Alfred Hillinghead – Kyle Soller

Kyle Soller takes on the role of Victorian detective Alfred Hillinghead solving the case during the era of Jack the Ripper in Whitechapel no less.

The star is best known for his roles in BBC’s Poldark, Andor on Disney Plus. The Titan and Brexit: The Uncivil War.

Henry Ashe – George Parker

In the role of Star journalist Henry Ashe is actor George Parker after roles in Netflix’s Shadow and Bone, Pennyworth and Doctors.

Ladbroke – Andrew Whipp

Andrew Whipp stars as forensics officer Ladbroke with the star known for his parts in Outlander, Shetland, Six Four and Cursed.


Charlie Whiteman – Jacob Fortune-Lloyd

Jacob Fortune-Lloyd leads as the main detective in 1941 with viewers recognising him for his appearance in Hulu’s The Great, The Power on Amazon Prime Video, Wolf Hall and The Queen’s Gambit.

Calloway – Derek Riddell

Joining him as his superior Calloway is Derek Riddell, who has also appeared in The Missing, Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack, Industry and A Confession.

Shahara Hasan – Amaka Okafor

Amaka Okafor stars as modern-day detective Shahara Hasan after parts in The Responder and Des with Bodies being her most prominent role to date.

DCI Jack Barber – Michael Jibson

Michael Jibson appears as her colleague DCI Jack Barber with the star counting credits in The Essex Serpent on Apple TV+, The Reckoning, Quiz on ITV and 1917, among many other parts.

Syed Tahir – Chaneil Kular

Chaneil Kular plays the mysterious Syed Tahir, who has a link to the body, with the actor most famous for his part as Anwar Bakshi in Sex Education.

Maggie Skinner – Alexandra Roach

Alexandra Roach stars as another of Shahara’s fellow officers Maggie Skinner and has appeared in Utopia, The Light in the Hall, No Offence, Black Mirror and Sanditon.

DI Goodman – Tim Downie

Tim Downie is fellow police officer DI Goodman and has previously starred in Outlander, Toast of London, Good Omens, Hapless and Housebound.

CI Paxman – Nicholas Farrell

Nicholas Farrell plays CI Paxman, who has had an illustrious career to date and most recently appeared in The Nevers on HBO, Gentleman Jack, White House Farm and The Gold.

Ishmael Hasan – Nitin Ganatra

Nitin Ganatra stars as Shahara’s father Ishmael Hasan following on from parts in EastEnders, Breeders, Accused and The Worst Witch.


Elias Mannix – Stephen Graham

Stephen Graham is the futuristic politician Elias Mannix, who could have a deep connection to the crime.

Graham is no stranger to screens with parts in Peaky Blinders, The Walk-In, Save Me, White House Farm, Time and most recently Boiling Point, among many other roles.

Iris Maplewood – Shira Haas

Shira Haas is the detective from the future Iris Maplewood, who will be left perplexed by the case.

The star is known for her parts in Shtisel, Unorthodox, Harem and The Conductor.
