Millie Bobby Brown talks weddings on GMA
As fans eagerly await the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, Eleven’s Millie Bobby Brown made a brutal admission which seemed to rub viewers up the wrong way.
The Netflix series thrust her into the limelight at the tender age of 12, but now she’s 19 and engaged to Jake Bongiovi, the actress admitted she was ready to leave the show behind.
Millie likened it to graduating from high school and told Glamour Magazine: “When you’re ready, you’re like, all right, let’s do this.
“‘Let’s tackle this last senior year. Let’s get out of here.’”
She also pointed out shooting for the show was time-consuming and stopped her from doing other projects she’s “passionate about.”

Adding: “So I’m ready to say, thank you, and goodbye.”
However, some fans were taken aback by her admission and took to social media to slam the star.
A furious @soobgoop wrote: “I hate celebs who don’t appreciate the projects that gave them the name.”
As @southelroyst fumed: “What a stupid way to talk about the project that made you famous. I get wanting to do other things but there’s a better way to say it.”

While @luke12406 remarked: “Hating on the one thing that made her.”
A sixth viewer @AFCshad0w wrote: “Stranger Things is the only reason she’s famous lol.”
Despite the backlash, other viewers came to Millie’s defence and understood her desire to move on after a decade on the show.

@Jenney14067744 shared: “I want that for her. She should move on and not just be known as Eleven.”
@NLNShootTheSh*t echoed: “I get the feeling of weariness after working on one project for so long. Go get your next gig Millie!”
This isn’t the first time the 19-year-old has spoken up about leaving the show, as she told Seventeen: “I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it, it’s been in our lives for a very long time.
“But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones up.
“I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful [for the show].”
