A Place in the Sun star teases celebrity spin-off featuring Eamonn Holmes

A Place in the Sun host Jean Johansson has revealed that she would love to see a star-studded spin-off of the Channel 4 show.

The This Morning regular also hinted at the celebrity talent that she would like to see appear in the celebrity version of the series, including her former ITV colleague Eamonn Holmes.

“Loads of celebrities love the show,” she explained in an exclusive interview with OK! Magazine.

“Eamonn Holmes in particular is a big fan and footballers ask for help to look for a property.

“It’d be great to do a celeb version so, Channel 4, if you’re reading, this is my pitch!” she added.

Jean has been married to Finnish football coach and former Rangers player Jonatan Johansson since 2008 and the pair share one son named Junior.

So, it’s no wonder that the presenter has so many contacts in the world of football who would be keen to have her do some house hunting for them.

With A Place in the Sun being so close to her heart, Jean has admitted she is so thrilled to be signing up for another year with the programme.

She went on to express how her “wonderful” house hunters really added to her experience hosting the show.

“I have so much respect for them – they go for it,” she said. “A lot of us talk about moving abroad but never do it. But they do and they tend to have amazing back stories too.”

As well as hosting the popular property show, Jean has also starred on Celebrity MasterChef and even won the Celebrity Mastermind trophy in 2022.

She began her career in 1998 on CBBC and The Disney Channel, before moving on to present the weather for STV and work for programmes like The One Show and Sunday Morning Live.

Despite being told she would “never” host A Place in the Sun after failing her first audition, the stars aligned for Jean, as she is now a series regular.

A Place in the Sun airs at 3pm today on Channel 4 and All4.
