Strictly fans concerned as cast hit by multiple injuries weeks before live show

    The contestants of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 have experienced a flurry of unfortunate injuries in the days leading up to the show's premiere, causing concern among its dedicated fanbase, as participants have shared their blisters, toe injuries, and arthritis diagnosis.

    A minimum of three celebrities have encountered discomfort during rehearsals for the 22nd series of the BBC One dancing competition show, raising uncertainties about their ability to participate fully in the contest.

    Sherlock Holmes actress Amanda Abbington was among the initial participants to reveal the physical toll of the training regimen on her body, using Instagram on Tuesday (September 5) to post a photo of a sizable round blood blister on her foot.

    The 51-year-old star wrote: "Dancing in heels, when you absolutely aren’t a dancer, is clearly a blister minefield but, moreover, very much a young man’s game… however, onwards.

    “Back tomorrow for more shenanigans!"

    Amanda’s admirers extended their sympathies, leaving empathetic remarks beneath the post, including expressions like "Ouch!" and "Looks painful!".

    Love Island star, Zara McDermott, has likewise sustained foot injuries due to the intensive dancing, recently sharing a picture of her injured big toe on Instagram earlier this week.

    The 26-year-old Essex native uploaded an image of her injured toe peeking out of a flip-flop, playfully remarking to her followers that it had experienced more “better days" before playfully hinting at the identity of her Strictly partner.

    Adam Thomas, known for his role in Waterloo Road, is another celebrity participating in Strictly 2023 who has been enduring discomfort during rehearsals for the upcoming live performances.

    The 35-year-old actor received a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis shortly after being unveiled as a contestant in the latest series, adding an extra layer of awe to his participation.

    Taking to Instagram, the actor wrote: "As much as I act like a kid, my body is telling another story.

    "I've been in a lot of pain since January. It started with my knees and then travelled to my wrists, fingers and now ankles and toes.

    “I never knew what was happening and finally after several blood tests and back and forth to doctors and hospitals.

    “I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid Arthritis!"
