Strictly’s Dianne Buswell’s nan is EastEnders superfan and sends Bobby Brazier special message

Bobby Brazier, who plays Freddy Slater in the BBC soap EastEnders is one of this year's celebrity dancers on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 20 year old has been paired with professional dancer, Dianne Buswell, who first joined the show back in 2017, for the series.

Earlier today, and ahead of tonight's live show, Dianne took to Instagram to share the sweetest video with her almost one million followers. The footage shows her elderly grandmother back in Australia watching a scene in EastEnders, which features Bobby as his character Freddy.

"So this is my nan back home in Australia and she is obsessed with @bbceastenders," Dianne partially captioned the video.

"So the fact I’m dancing with Freddy (Bobby) blows her mind."

The video also includes Dianne's Uncle Joe, who the dancer said "we can't forget is also a big fan."

During the footage, the classic EastEnders 'doof doof' is heard, to which Dianne's uncle pans the camera to her grandmother.

"Poor Freddy," she's heard saying before the video cuts to another scene of the actor in a different episode.

Following the footage of Dianne's nan and uncle watching the soap, the two appear in front of the camera to wish the pair the best of luck on the dance floor.

"Hello Dianne and Bobby," the dancer's grandma says, before joking, "or is it Freddy?"

"I hope you’ve had a lovely day today rehearsing," she adds.

After the sweet clip of Dianne's nan and uncle, the Strictly star then appears on screen, excitedly introducing Bobby to the camera.

"Hi nan, hi Uncle Joe, look who I’m with!" the 34 year old gushes.

Bobby then edges closer to the camera and addresses Dianne's grandmother directly.

"I’ve heard that you enjoy Freddy and I’m so grateful," the actor enthuses, before adding how he's even more grateful "to be dancing with [her] granddaughter."

The wholesome video ends on a sweet final note from Dianne's nan, who urges her granddaughter to "bring home the glitterball."

Of course, the video touched at the heartstrings of fans and celebrities alike, who took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

"This is too cute," actress Kym Marsh and former Strictly star said as a second typed: "Oh my goodness, she’s so adorable and this is very touching – good luck my darlings."

A third echoed this sentiment, penning: "Awwh so cute! You and Bobby are gonna make your nan so proud Dianne," as a fourth stated: "This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen."

Tonight Bobby and Dianne will dance the foxtrot to All About You by McFly.

Strictly Come Dancing will go live on Saturday from 6.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Strictly It Takes Two will return to BBC Two from 6.30pm on September 25, with presenters and singers Janette Manrara and Fleur East.
