Strictlys It Takes Two host Janette Manrara gets adorable work visit from baby daughter

Strictly Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara was left beaming as she got a special work visit from her baby daughter Lyra.

The 39 year old former Strictly pro dancer now presents the programme’s behind-the-scenes companion show It Takes Two. And she was all smiles this week as she was joined at the TV studios by her little girl – who she shares with husband and fellow Strictly ex pro Aljaž Škorjanec, 33.

Janette posted a picture of the sweet visit on her Instagram page with the caption: “I had a very special visitor at work today!” Fans were quick to send their well-wishes in response to the cute snap.

One wrote: “How gorgeous – wonderful to see you back on the couch on it takes two – it is wonderful to have a dancers perspective on the talent, and the dances, I feel this will be the best one yet – such an exciting lineup. You look amazing.”

Another added: “How cute is Lyra wow melts your heart.” A third simply said: “So gorgeous.”

Earlier this month, Janette sparked a fiery debate among fans after she made a return to work six weeks after Lyra’s birth. The Cuban-American dance star, who rose to fame in the UK in 2013 when she made her debut on Strictly Come Dancing as a professional, welcomed the little girl on 28 July.

In early September, she made a return to TV when she appeared on BBC’s Morning Live. She posted a photograph on Instagram of her baby girl watching her on TV during the appearance – along with a caption that read: "It was so nice to be back on @bbcmorninglive today w/ @gethincjones and the whole gang! But what made it extra special, is that Lyra got to watch her Mami doing her thing at work for the first time w/ her cousins Zala and Tisa.

"So special to know that they were all watching together at home! This photo melted my heart. I cannot wait to cuddle her all day now! To all the working moms out there…. You’re incredible and we’ve got this."

But some fans took to social media to criticise Janette for going back to work. One wrote: "Do you realise you have a child to look after, you didn’t have her so you could pass her over to your husband 23 hrs a day."

Another added: "This isn’t personal and I mean no disrespect, but I wish celebs wouldn’t normalise mums going back to work when their babies are tiny. Most of us don’t want to, aren’t physically or emotionally ready and it’s not what’s best for us. It’s a shame Janette feels pressured into going back so soon."

However, other fans defended the new mum. One replied: "I can’t believe the negative comments around Janette being back at work. It’s 2023!

“When I had my son I taught dance and drama. I was back teaching only a couple of hours a work at 6 weeks postpartum. All signed off by a doctor. "

Meanwhile, earlier this month Janette delighted fans by sharing a number of sweet photos from a recent family day out with Aljaž Škorjanec and Lyra.
