Strictlys Neil Jones addresses future on BBC series

Strictly: Neil Jones plays Allen in Barbie routine

Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones has addressed his future on the BBC series after being snubbed of a celebrity partner this year.

Neil, who joined the series in 2016, has been paired with the likes of Alex Scott and EastEnders star Nina Wadia.

And despite not being partnered up with a celebrity this year, the dancer admitted he was happy to be the show’s “biggest cheerleader”.

He also addressed his future on the programme, telling Ok!: “Every year I say ‘as long as I’m still enjoying Strictly and they still want me, then I’m happy to keep doing it, with or without a partner’.

“Then they call me a second time, which is to say whether I have a partner or not, and I tell them before they get a chance to say it, that I really don’t mind either way.”

He added: “I’m the Strictly cheerleader and am always rooting for the celebs.

“I give pep talks to them and say ‘whatever you do, just listen to your partner, that’s the main thing’.”

Another piece of Neil’s advice to the celebrities was to “ignore the judges”.

Neil and his girlfriend Chyna Mills welcomed their first child together this year after getting engaged.

Last week, the professional dancer finally revealed the baby girl’s as Havana Jones.

“Cuba is the home of dance and very multicultural so it was perfect; it sums us up, we’re running on not much sleep and pure joy” he told Hello!

“She has dancer feet! And she loves music!” he said before Chyna added: “We’ve been watching Neil on Strictly from home.

“I told her, ‘Look, it’s Daddy on the screen’ and at that moment, she did these little smiles with her eyes closed.”

Neil may not have a celeb partner this year, but fans have loved watching him performing in the professional dancer’s routines.

During the Movie Week results show, Neil wowed viewers at home when he transformed into Ken’s best friend Allan from the Barbie movie.

Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 6.40pm on BBC One.
