Recent spotting of Bigfoot in Colorado is likely just a ‘guy in a suit,’ expert claims

A Bigfoot expert has revealed the couple who recently claimed they spotted the mythological creature in Colorado probably saw a guy in a suit. 

Shannon Parker and her husband Stetson Tyler said they saw the beast during a Narrow Gauge train ride from Durango to Silverton on October 8. 

A video captured on the trip shows the alleged creature prowling around the hillside before the animal squats down into a seated position and blends into the brown shrubbery. 

But specialist Michael Rugg, curator of the Bigfoot Discovery Museum in California, doused their claims. 

 ‘I have to say I looked at the video and [the creature] had a strong possibility of being a guy in a suit,’ Rugg told The New York Post.

He was not able to say for certain the footage was not of Bigfoot despite having his suspicions. 

‘It didn’t look right to me. It’s not muscular enough. There’s not enough detail to be able to judge it but it wouldn’t surprise me if somebody from [another Bigfoot] museum was out to build up publicity.’ 

Parker and her husband claimed to have seen Bigfoot on their romantic trip. 

‘We were looking for elk in the mountains and my husband sees something moving and then can’t really explain it,’ she said.  ‘So he’s like “Bigfoot!”. 

‘It was at least six, seven feet or taller. It matched the sage in the mountains so much that he’s like camouflaged when crouching down… if you asked before our trip we would have said maybe [Bigfoot] could be real, but now we’re convinced.’

The 44-year-old contractor from Cheyenne, Wyoming, shared a video of the sighting on Facebook and claimed the train conductor said there were previous non-human sightings. 

‘He said that he went out snowshoeing in those mountains before and had seen footprints that were larger and of much bigger stride than snowshoes would have been,’ she said. 

‘He has seen unexplainable things as well.’ 

The interaction was filmed by another passenger named Brandon who saw the couple react and decided to pull out his phone to record the mythical beast.

‘The ever-elusive creature Bigfoot,’ he said as he took the video.

The alleged Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, camouflages into the dark brown shrubs around him in the clip as he moves back and forth and looks toward the steam engine train.

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, has mystified humans for centuries and ten years ago, it was reported that genetic testing had confirmed that Bigfoot was a human relative that arose some 15,000 years ago

Bigfoot hunters said that the ape, also known as Gigantopithecus blacki is believed to still be out there, alive and well, as it hides out in the forests of the Pacific Northwest

‘He still moving?’ a passenger said in the background.

‘He can stand up,’ said another passenger.

The video then loses sight of the mythical human-like creature as the train chugs along.

Parker received comments from skeptical people who claimed it could have been a hunter in a camouflage suit or someone who was pulling a prank. 

‘It didn’t look like a hunter because a hunter would have had a weapon like a bow since its bow season,’ she said. ‘It didn’t seem to be carrying anything.’

Rugg has insisted that Bigfoot does exist and he has spoken to ‘hundreds of witnesses’ and saw one with his own eyes. 

‘They are out there,’ he said. ‘I saw one when I was a child. It was a great big hairy man about two or three feet taller than my parents.

‘And the one I saw had a plaid shirt just on its arm. I figured it took it off a clothesline, got it up to the armpit and it wouldn’t go further because it was too small for him, so he left it on his arm.

‘It was quite a sight seeing a bigfoot just standing there with a shirt on one arm.’

But he added he ‘did not feel threatened’ at the time because he ‘had no preconception.’ 

‘I had no reason to fear this as it didn’t have its teeth bared and wasn’t making scary noises or coming after me.’

‘It was just standing there and probably curious how I’d react to it.’

The Bigfoot expert claims to have heard it scream multiple times while looking for one. 

Rugg said: ‘One bigfoot was screaming and others responded then a pack of coyotes joined in…. we’ve had that happen a few times.

‘The dogs here learn that if Bigfoot goes through your yard, you don’t bark and wake up people, because he doesn’t want people to know it’s there.’

Colorado, Oklahoma and Indiana are increasing their Bigfoot-searching efforts despite the fact that none of the areas rank in the top 10 most likely states to ‘find bigfoot’

A multi-state investigation was launched after the compelling ‘Bigfoot sighting’ in Colorado energized other US states to step up their search efforts.

Indiana and Oklahoma have initiated recent expeditions to find Bigfoot after the hopes of Sasquatch believers were energized following Colorado’s viral video evidence of a ‘sighting’.

The Native Oklahoma Bigfoot Research Organization launched an investigation in McAlester, Oklahoma, after several reports of ‘Bigfoot sightings’ popped up in September and the groundbreaking train-sighting in the neighboring state of Colorado.

Despite being further away from the recent action, Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization kicked off their autumn campout on October 12 with around 40 ‘squatchers’ camping out over the weekend to connect with other believers and try their luck at catching a glimpse of the creature.

Colorado, Oklahoma and Indiana are increasing their Bigfoot-searching efforts despite the fact that none of the areas rank in the top 10 most likely states to ‘find Bigfoot’.

Washington takes first place – with 713 Bigfoot sightings reported and the other West coast states of California (461) and Oregon (257) both rank highly.

Indiana’s neighbors, Ohio (321) and Illinois (303), come in fourth and fifth place respectively but Indiana falls far behind its surrounding states in sightings of the hairy creature.

Nine out of ten Bigfoot sightings are never reported because people don’t want to be ridiculed for claiming that they saw a sasquatch, according to Bigfoot expert Brian Terrell.
