EXCLUSIVE Jade Goody’s mum Jackiey Budden lives in flat in crime-ridden estate in South London full of drug dealers and gangs while Strictly star grandson Bobby Brazier is set for £2.6M payday
- EXCLUSIVE: Jackiey Budden, 66, lives on the Dickens Estate in Bermondsey
Jade Goody’s mother Jackiey lives in a council flat in a crime-ridden South London estate while her Strictly star grandson Bobby Brazier is expected to pull in a £2.6million payday.
Jackiey Budden, maternal grandmother of Bobby, 20, lives in Bermondsey where she raised her Big Brother star daughter.
Jade shot to fame on the third series of the hit show but tragically died from cancer in 2009 aged just 27.
She was the first reality star to become a millionaire and amassed a £3million business empire, taking in books, perfume and exercise videos.
But despite her family’s fame and success – Ms Budden still lives in a ground-floor flat in an area locals say is blighted by gangs and drug dealers.

The 66-year-old, (pictured) despite being in a feud with his father Jeff Brazier, 44, said she is a ‘very proud nan’ and it’s ‘wonderful’ to see Bobby on the show
Within a mile of Jackiey’s estate, 381 crimes were recorded in September – around 12 a day
Bobby paid tribute to mum Jade by dedicating his Strictly Come Dancing routine to her
The 66-year-old told MailOnline she is a ‘very proud nan’ and it’s ‘wonderful’ to see Bobby on Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking outside her property, where tributes have been left for her daughter, she said: ‘I’m very, very proud of Bobby. He is doing amazing.
‘It’s great to see. I watch as a very proud nan.
‘It’s wonderful. Of course I am pleased he is doing well.’
But while Bobby grew up in a £1.2million stylish home with his family in Essex, within a mile of Jackiey’s estate, 381 crimes were recorded in September – around 12 a day, according to data.
That includes 68 violent or sexual offences, 15 robberies, 90 anti-social behaviour crimes and 28 burglaries, among many others.

The figure was 359 in August, while in September of last year it was 277.
Residents in the same block as Jackiey, described it being riddled with crime issues.
One said: ‘There’s drug-dealing everywhere. It’s open. People get attacked and robbed.
‘It has got worse in recent years. I feel sorry for Jackiey that she still lives here.’
Another, who said he was too frightened to give his name, said: ‘I don’t go out here after night.
‘I know that women only tend to go out in groups. They’re terrified.’
While Jackiey remains on good terms with grandsons Bobby and his younger brother Freddie, 19, she is embroiled in a bitter feud with their father Jeff Brazier, 44,
In September, she secretly got tickets to the National Television Awards to watch Bobby get a Rising Star gong for playing Freddie Slater in EastEnders.
There she was recorded branding Brazier a ‘c***’.
Jackiey addressed the row with Jeff Brazier when speaking to MailOnline, she said: ‘When I came out for the NTA Awards, I’m loud and it’s the drink and someone went ‘oh I bet you’re really proud’ and ‘how do you get on with Jeff Brazier’ and I said ‘he’s a c**k’.
‘Next minute I’m on the internet and all over the papers. As I came out of the O2, someone overheard me say it, so they sold the story.’
When asked if she said it and why, Jackiey fumed: ‘Of course I said it. I haven’t got a problem with (calling him that).
‘He’s been a c**k for f****** nine years.
‘Bobby doesn’t need that stress on his head. He’s my grandson.’
In 2021, Bobby confirmed in an Instagram video that he was back in contact with his nan after losing touch.
He said: ‘I didn’t see her for ages – for way too long – but I went to see her twice recently.
‘And honestly if there’s one woman you shouldn’t underestimate it’s my nan.
‘Honestly, she’s like a wizard! It’s nuts.’

When Jade passed away in 2009, she insisted that her two sons’ wishes should be ‘paramount’.
Her mother Jackiey received £10,000, while husband Jack Tweed – who she tied the knot with two weeks before her death – was bequeathed nothing but her £14,000 Volkswagen.
In 2020, Jack claimed Jade’s money had ‘vanished’ and said ‘something doesn’t add up’.
It was reported In 2011 that her fortune had taken a significant blow due to a £1.8million tax bill after she allegedly didn’t pay income tax for four years.
In 2014, Jeff claimed the debt had grown after it was ruled that expenses and losses from her Essex based beauty salon didn’t qualify for tax relief.
He also alleged Jade wasn’t ‘good at taking advice’ about financial matters.
Last week, Bobby received a standing ovation for his dance to This Woman’s Work with partner Dianne Buswell.
He said his mother’s death in 2009 ‘changed my life completely’ in a clip before the dance routine.
EastEnders actor Bobby, is tipped to become the new ‘nation’s sweetheart’ before heading off to Hollywood, according to PR experts.
PR guru Carla Speight said: ‘He’s likely to find himself with a ‘golden handcuffs’ style contract, after a short bidding war between the channels’.
She pointed to the likes of Sarah Lancashire’s career who was reportedly earned £1.3M in a deal with ITV making her the highest-paid television actress in 2000.
Carla said: ‘Bobby will easily double that with the right channel and the right jobs’.
MailOnline approached Jeff Brazier for comment.
