Masked teen's chilling remark to teacher before he stabbed him in school corridor with six inch kitchen knife | The Sun

A MASKED teen told his teacher "I'm sorry" before stabbing him with a six inch kitchen knife in the school corridor.

The 15-year-old covered his face with a snood and hooded top and took the blade from his kitchen at home.

He then called 999 from the toilets at Tewkesbury Academy in Gloucestershire and told them a teacher at the school would be stabbed.

The teen, who legally can't be named, also warned a pal "wait until period one" before the horror unfolded.

He then told Jamie Sansom to "come here" before plunging the knife into the maths teacher's stomach.

The teen later text his mum, saying: "I am sorry. Goodbye forever but remember this I always loved you guys."

"Nothing strikes me about it that was impulsive."

The court heard the boy had chillingly made comments in the classroom to the effect that he wanted to live a life of crime by perhaps robbing a bank or even killing someone.

He unleashed the horror attack on July 10 as terrified teachers barricaded pupils inside classrooms.

One hero teacher dragged a wardrobe across the door and told all the children to hide at the back of the classroom.

The school was plunged into lockdown as an alarm blared out.

Two other institutions nearby were also asked to shut their doors as a "precaution".

Maths teacher Jamie was rushed to hospital but has since been discharged and is "recovering well".

In a victim impact statement read to the court, he said he was now nervous about going out at night.

He added: "I never thought this would happen in a school or to me.

"When I saw him outside and all of a sudden there was a knife there, at first, I thought this was a joke and wondered if I was in some sort of soap opera.

"When he said, 'I am sorry', I didn't know what to do and when the knife made contact with my stomach I panicked and ran to a colleague.

"I do not know what the reason was for this and what caused him to come into school with a knife and stab me.

"I have thought about this and cannot figure out why."

The teacher also said he holds "no ill will" towards the pupil but said he "needs to understand that actions have consequences".

The court was told the stabbing was a "freak incident" that "came from nowhere".

James McKenna, defending, described the boy as "somewhat of a loner" and said he spends most of his time at home.
