Shocking new footage shows the moment a mass brawl broke out at a North Carolina high school, leaving one student dead and another in hospital.
One child, in a gray hoodie with a black jacket, backs another student in a red hoodie into a corner and then punches him repeatedly.
The pair run into the school gymnasium, followed by dozens of whooping and cheering students filming on their phones.
A brawl ensues, with one student on the ground pulling out a knife and stabbing another in the leg and groin.
As the children fled, no one was on the ground. But one of the students was later pronounced dead, and the second hospitalized.
Two ambulances were seen leaving Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, each trailed by a police vehicle, early Monday afternoon.
Police say they arrested a suspect, but have not said what led to the fight and deadly incident. None of the names of the students involved have been released.

The initial call came in at around 11am, when a school resource officer called for EMS and backup, saying a student had been stabbed.
Shortly after, another student was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing.
‘He’s losing consciousness right now. We’re in the main gym,’ a woman’s voice was heard saying over law enforcement radio traffic.
A male’s voice said: ‘Can you make sure the administrators put the school on lockdown?’
According to Raleigh police, a fight had broken out involving several students. The incident was described as a ‘serious assault’ in a social media post.
However, the department added: ‘The scene is secure, and this appears to be an isolated incident. Please avoid the area around the school.’
A follow-up message informed parents that the school would remain under a Code Red lockdown due to the ongoing investigation, but a ‘controlled’ dismissal would occur at the usual time.

The lockdown was in effect until 2.20pm local time. Carpool students were taken by bus to Walnut Creek Amphitheater to be reunited with their families.
Superintendent Robert Taylor offered his condolences during a news conference.
He said that Wake County does not have metal detectors at school entrances, but that school staff are able to search students if they have a ‘reasonable suspicion that a student has a weapon’.
Taylor said that the student suspected of stabbing the other had not aroused any concerns, but said their policies will now be reviewed.
‘As a parent, I can’t imagine getting that call,’ he said.
‘However, most importantly, I pledge my resolve; schools should be a safe haven for students and staff.
‘In the aftermath of today’s tragedy, we will review all of our safety processes and protocols.’
