Emma Heming Willis takes kids to meet Bruce’s wax figure
Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis admitted that information about the Die Hard star’s condition was “freaking [her] out” when she first started her research.
The family confirmed in March 2022 that the Hollywood star, 68, had been diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects language processing and communication skills.
They later confirmed this February that the condition had progressed to Frontotemporal dementia.
“I didn’t know where to go, what to look up, I’m looking things up and it’s freaking me out,” Emma, 45, recalled.
Thankfully, she was able to connect with Bruce’s fans and her own followers from her Make Time to Connect YouTube series for support.

“There wasn’t a lot [of information about FTD] but you guys popped up,” she said in her latest video on Sunday.
“I started listening and I felt like, ‘Oh my gosh I’m so grateful to hear other people’s stories.’”
FTD affects the person’s mobility and can cause slowed movement, stiffness and balance problems.
Bruce has now retired from acting, but in the last years of his career he took on limited roles in smaller films when he started struggling to remember his lines.

“There’s nothing that levels the playing field like FTD,” Emma explained.
“And I have made some of the greatest connections with other care partners, people like you who just get it. There doesn’t have to be so much explanation.
“You guys have been so helpful to me. I want to say thank you.
“I’m surprised I’m not crying because that’s where I go to when I think of people who have been that lifeline for me.”

Emma previously admitted it was “hard to know” if Bruce fully understands what is happening during an appearance on Today.
“Dementia is hard,” she said. “It’s hard on the person diagnosed, it’s also hard on the family.
“And that is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls. When they say this is a family disease, it really is.”
