LW: Linda Robson compares covid to a wartorn country
Former I’m A Celebrity campmate Linda Robson has revealed she could smell takeaways eaten by the crew when she took part in the 12th series of the show back in 2012. Hunger has been a huge talking point of the ITV show this year, and now Linda, 65, has claimed the smell of takeaways makes the campmates even hungrier.
While speaking to altindex.com about the food situation, the Loose Women star said: “They’ve all got on, which is amazing, as there’s usually a few there who don’t. When they do argue it’s always about cooking as everyone is starving in there. When I was in there we had Rosemary Shrager and she cooked all the time so there was never any arguing.
“But you get a lot of smells in the jungle while you’re in there as the camera crew are all hidden behind different areas. One night I could smell Chinese food, the other night I could smell Indian food, which just makes you even hungrier. We’d go, ‘Oh, they’re having an Indian takeaway tonight!'”
There has been plenty of simmering tension in the camp this year when it comes to the cooking, namely between Fred Sirieix and Josie Gibson. For the first few weeks of the Australia-based show, First Dates star Fred, 51, was in charge of cooking his fellow campmates meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
However, when Nella Rose became camp leader, she gave Fred the duty of washing the pots and pans and instead put Josie, 38, as the cook for the group.

Chef Fred struggled to let Josie take the reigns and attempted to advise her each time she would be cooking, much to the frustration of the This Morning host. During the first breakfast since the duty changes, Fred asked Josie: “Did you do the beans, Josie? Did you soak them?” Josie simply replied: “No.”
In the Bush Telegraph Fred commented: “Today, Tony and Josie are going to cook their first breakfast. Breakfast is basically boiled rice. But there is a way to cook the rice. If not, the rice tastes bitter and it’s really unpleasant in the morning, so hopefully they’ll get it right.”
Back in camp, he asked: “Josie, is the rice cooked? How far are we from…” Josie answered: “It’s boiling up. It’s still a bit hard.” In the Bush Telegraph, she added: “Me and Tony are the chefs.
“He’s a pot wash now. He’s got to give the reins over to me. It’s only me and Tony can fit on that horse. No Fred.”
