Kate Middleton took over Westminster Abbey for the a third year in a row to host a night of carol singing and Christmas celebrations this week. The Princess of Wales was joined by a star-studded congregation, including This Morning host Emma Willis and Roman Kemp.

Emma, who recently appeared as a host on the ITV programme, wore a dazzling red suit to the inaugural concert and shared a heartwarming moment with the Princess of Wales.

Meanwhile, Kate looked radiant in a white long coat as she was joined by her husband Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. They were accompanied by other members of the royal family and a 1,500 strong guestlist.

The annual service focused on the importance of the early years of a child’s life and the crowd heard how around 1,500 babies are born on Christmas Day each year in the United Kingdom.

During the service, Emma paid tribute to midwives and read a reading dedicated to the “unsung heroes” of the maternity services. A poignant film was also screened in the cathedral telling the stories of midwives’ lives.

The service will be shown on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve.
