I gave my kitchen a new look on a budget with B&M buys…but trolls are out in full force & say they preferred it before | The Sun

A WOMAN has revealed that she gave her kitchen a totally new look whilst on a budget.

Using cheap buys from Shein and B&M, Kenya Crompton was able to transform her dark, black kitchen, into a bright, modern space, without having to splash too much cash.

However, while Kenya loves her DIY transformation, not everyone was as keen.

Posting on social media, the blonde beauty shared a clip showing the before, during and after of her kitchen’s much-needed overhaul.

She said: “Kitchen makeover for under £100.”

At the start of the clip, Kenya showed a close-up look of her kitchen, prior to its makeover.

DIY fan shows off stair makeover & money-saving hack…but people are divided

I gave my council house a posh makeover but it’s really divided opinions

It was very dark, with black tiles on the walls and floor and Kenya confirmed that it wasn't to her “style.”

However, the DIY-enthusiast then got to work on the much-needed overhaul.

She started out by painting the black splash tiles white, using Johnsons tile paint, which cost her £16 from B&M.

She then spray painted the silver cupboard handles black and painted the once-white cupboards a cool cream.

Kenya also got new flooring, which she nabbed from Shein on the cheap.

The young woman explained that she used self-adhesive vinyl wrap from B&M, in the shade of sonoma oak, to give her work surfaces a quick and easy upgrade.

She later confirmed: “Worktops cost £30 and the flooring was £40, not sure how long we will get out of it though, but it’s fine for now!”

Kenya’s clip, which was posted on TikTok under the username @kenyacrompton, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 185,700 views.

However, social media users were left totally divided at the kitchen overhaul – while some were impressed, others weren't keen.

One person said: “Looks so much brighter and fresh, well done.”

Another added: “Wow wow wow it’s amazing! Love the tiles in white.”

A third commented: “It looked good before then I saw how much brighter the space was after. Great job.”

Whilst another posted: “Glow up.”

However, not everyone was as impressed, as one user penned: “I liked it better before personally.”

A second chimed in: “The paint on the tiles don't look properly finished. Looks OK but the black tiles looked better in my opinion.”

Whilst someone else agreed: “Absolutely not. Better before..”

Another then wrote: “Not convinced on the tiles.”

To this, the DIY whizz replied: “We like it and that’s what matters.”

At the same time, one user explained: “I feel like the tiles are gonna scratch so easily.”

To this, Kenya confirmed: “They are fine.”

Many social media users also questioned how Kenya managed to transform her space for so cheap.

One user wrote: “I can't see that being under 100 pounds.”
