I work at Primark – five beauty items you have to buy to keep your skin fresh as winter approaches | The Sun

A PRIMARK employee has taken to Instagram to share five “skincare saviours” to try as the weather gets colder.

The best bit? Most of the brand's skincare products are under £5, meaning you can curate a whole routine of cleanser, eye-cream, serum and moisturiser for less than £20.

The first product was 7pk PS… Skin + Retinol Serum Ampoules at £2.50.

If retinol isn’t already part of your skincare routine, it's best to use the pods just two nights a week initially to get your skin used to the product.

“If retinol isn't already part of your skincare routine, you'll want it to be,” a blurb on the capsules reads.

“Offering a skin-friendly and enhancing dose of retinol (Vitamin A), this deeply penetrating serum is perfect for reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores thanks to its plumping effect.”

If you’re someone who already uses retinol regularly, then the pods will give you a whole week’s worth of evening skincare.

The next product recommended was the £4.50 1% Vitamin C Eye Cream, which is said to depuff the eye area and reveal fresher skin.

To apply, you should pat it in small dots around the area orbital, avoiding direct contact with the eye, until it is fully absorbed.

Primark’s PS… Clear + Cool Blemish Gel was also recommended at £1.50 a tube for people with oily skin.

It is “enriched with tea tree and witch hazel, ingredients that target blemishes and skin imperfections”.

They also recommended the brand’s Facial Cleansing Milk which is reportedly “a gentle formula which still powerfully removes makeup” at £2 a bottle.

“Offering the silky and indulgent feel of a light formula packed with hydrating and soothing Vitamin E and Organic Rose, this cleanser is vegan and perfect for even sensitive skin,” Primark bosses said.

“And leaves your face cleansed and free of make-up and pollutants.

“Simply apply the formula with a cleansing pad, gently wipe away, and then continue with your favourite toner, serums, and moisturiser to complete both day and night skincare routines.”

The final product recommended was the PS… Skin + Niacinamide Night Mask, which has 10% potency at £4.50 a pot.

“When slathered on before bed, this niacinamide mask is designed to allow you to awaken with a clearer looking complexion,” a blurb on the product reads.

“Niacinamide is an ingredient popularised in the skincare sphere for its ability to help improve skin texture, even out tone and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.”
