I’m 5’7” and a size 16 with PCOS belly, I did a Shein haul & the pants gave ‘tummy control’ effect without squeezing me | The Sun

A FASHIONISTA has left shopaholics rushing to fill their wardrobes with new staples from Shein after sharing her haul.

She tried a selection of stylish items suitable to wear throughout fall while giving her verdict on whether they flatter her figure.

Dani Lin (@realdanilin) has over 700 followers on TikTok, where she shares her latest fashion finds for plus-size women.

She took to the social media platform asking if she should keep or return the latest items she received from Shein in a size 16.

“Let’s get into this haul,” she said.

Plaid print dress

Dani started the haul wearing a striped red dress teamed with a long-sleeve black top.

She admitted that she was disappointed by how it looked on her.

She said: “They sent me the wrong size but I think this dress looked better in my head."

Shein’s tie-shoulder plaid dress is available in sizes ranging from XL to 4XL for $20.46.

The trendsetter posed from different angles and changed the style of her hair as she tried to make the outfit work.

However, she was still unsatisfied and said she would be returning it.

Figure-hugging jumpsuit

Dani then changed into a black jumpsuit paired with a white cropped cardigan.

She said: ‘While this does not have tummy control built-in, it’s not too loose and hugs well. Cardigans is a bit oversized.”

Shein’s flare leg jumpsuit costs $13.31 and their ribbed knit cardigan is just $10.68.

Dani made an uncertain facial expression before making a peace sign and revealing her decision to keep the outfit.

Beige co-ord

The style enthusiast then opted for a workwear-appropriate outfit with neutral-colored pants and a coordinating waistcoat.

She completed the look by wearing it with a white turtle neck top.

She said: “Super comfortable and loose in the right areas. The top is a bit smaller if you have a more blessed chest.”

Shein’s button-front vest blazer and pants set are available in sizes ranging from XL to 4XL for $26.61.

Dani beamed in the outfit and revealed she would be keeping it.

Sweater dress

She finished the haul by wearing a black jumper dress with a white shirt.

Shein sells the knit separately for $14.90 while the shirt that goes underneath is $18.05.

“True to size. A smidge too short in the back, I’m 5’7 for reference,” Dani said.

Despite the length issue, Dani decided to keep the outfit.

She captioned the post: “Dressing my PCOS belly [smile].”

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common causes of female infertility and affects around 5 million women of reproductive age in the US.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms may include irregular periods, acne, a thinning scalp, and excess face and bodily hair.

The condition has also been associated with bloating and weight gain, depression, and a higher risk of type 2 diabetes.

PCOS cannot be cured but the symptoms can be managed with lifestyle changes such as losing excess weight and using a contraceptive pill that induces regular periods.

Over 128,000 people watched Dani’s video and it received thousands of likes.

Commenters were quick to share their opinions on which outfit looked best while also sharing the issues they’ve had when dressing their own body.

One person wrote: “Can you make more videos I also wanna dress cute. I am also insecure because of my PCOS belly.”
