Woman finds secret cupboard which leads to a creepy room with child's handprints on the wall & it locks from the INSIDE | The Sun

A WOMAN has been left stunned after finding a secret cupboard that leads to a creepy room in her house.

She explained that she'd been completely unaware of the room's existence until she opened the cupboard in her basement's bathroom.

She then discovered that it led into a small room, which was made even creepier by the fact it had what appeared to be children's hand and footprints on the wall.

There were also three names – Rebecca, Kelly and Sarah – written in paint, as well as the words "Love Shack" prominently on the wall.

She also found out that the room locks from the inside.

"What do I do?" the woman asked in the caption.

And people in the comments section were divided as to whether the room was scary enough to call the police over, or it was a teenage girl's hangout space for her and her friends.

"Absolute weirdest vibes.. love shack? The feet?" one wrote.

"It was either a fun little hide out, or the creepiest thing ever," another added.

"Love shack makes me feel uncomfortable, what happened in there?" a third wrote.

"Tell the police like just in case it’s linked to something…….." someone else urged.

"you should definitely tell authorities, better to have someone look into it than to turn a blind eye to something that might need actually attention," another agreed.

As someone else wrote: "The way I was smiling then immediately my face dropped and I became physically ill".

However, others didn't see what was creepy about the room, and insisted the "Love Shack" reference was more likely to be about the famous song.

"What are these comments lol," one wrote.

"It locks from the INSIDE. Definitely was a hide out for some sisters who liked the song love shack – so cute!"

"Y'all do know love shack is a song right? I loved it as a kid," another added.

"The tween girls who used that space as a hang out for sleepovers and doodling probably had no idea a bunch of adults on tiktok would be debating the size of their hands and feet, why one of them liked the song Love Shack by the B52s, or why the paint doesn't go all the way down the wall," a third laughed.

"Jesus christ guys it's a weird little crawl space that the parents never used as storage so their kids just took over as a play space."

"Y’all this is so obviously just a girly lil hang out area," someone else insisted.

"Me and my bsf have the 'babe cave' at my family’s cabin. This seems like the same vibe."

"I really don't understand why people are making a big deal," another commented.

"It locks from the inside was clearly the work of teens or kids having a great time!"

In another video, the woman shared another look at the room, which she's now using for storage.

"It's actually in the basement bathroom," she said.

"So it's even creepier that it's in the basement.

"You just open the cabinet 1and then you step on the toilet.

"And then you can open the door and turn on the light.

"It's still creepy as hell in here.

"We did give it a fresh coat of paint. so the feet and Love Shack are gone, and some of the pictures are gone too.

"But yeah, still very creepy, and I don't like coming down here."

She also said she wouldn't be calling the police because she didn't know what she would tell them, but added: "This is definitely made for children.

"Because you cannot stand in here, like at all.

"So yeah, this was definitely a kid in the nineties."
