It follows a traditional recipe, containing vine fruits, cider, brandy, Cognac and almonds. 

If not everyone is a fan of the classic dessert, customers can also get a smaller version for just £3.99 that serves four people. 

Tesco Finest Black Forest Christmas Pudding – £12  (800g)

Inspired by the classic black forest recipe, the moist pudding is a combination of two family favourties

If you want something slightly different to a classic Christmas pudding, Tesco’s festive offerings include an option with a twist.

The Black Forest Christmas Pudding is made with vine fruits, Belgian chocolate chunks, glacé cherries and kirsch, topped with red glacé cherries, whole almonds and a syrup sauce.

Inspired by the classic black forest recipe, the moist pudding is a combination of two family favourties.

The rich and decadent dessert serves eight people and costs just £12. 

M&S Collection Perfectly Matured Christmas Pudding – £13

The dessert is suitable for vegetarians and is 907g, slightly bigger than the other supermarket offerings

It’s bursting with vine fruits, Braeburn apples and nuts, and soaked in brandy and cognac.

Waitrose are also offering a version with a twist, the  No.1 Sicilian Orange & Whisky Christmas Pudding for £11.25, down from £15.

Inspired by the flavours of an Old Fashioned cocktail, the richly fruited pudding is laced with Scottish whisky, topped with red and blonde glacé cherries, almonds and candied orange, with a Sicilian orange sauce.
