December may still be a few months away, but 2023’s beauty advent calendars have already started hitting the shops, both in store and online.
And one that’s already available for keen shoppers to buy is ASOS Face + Body 25 Day Advent Calendar. Priced at £90, it’s one of the (slightly) more affordable ones on the market, but its contents have a value of nearly £400, giving shoppers a saving of over £300.
Described as “the perfect gift” on the ASOS website, it contains 25 skincare, make-up, hair and body care products from some of the top beauty brands stocked on the site, including Charlotte Tilbury, Elemis and Sol de Janeiro.
But what do the beauty experts really think of it? Beauty editor Laura Mulley got a first look at it – here’s what she thinks…

“It’s easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of beauty advent calendars on sale at the moment, but ASOS is a brand that I shop from regularly and its Face + Body beauty section is brilliant, so this is one I was really excited to get my hands on.
“Looks-wise, it’s neat and compact, with numbered boxes neatly slotted into jewellery box-style packaging like a Tetris game. It’s not sturdy enough to keep forever once empty, but it’s made completely from cardboard so is easy to recycle.
“When it came to opening up the doors, I was (somewhat surprisingly) really, really impressed. I thought this was aimed at a slightly younger customer than 35-year-old me, but inside I found that loads of the products were ones I love, use regularly and buy on repeat, like This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and REN Radiance Brightening Eye Cream (my favourite eye cream ever).
“You’ll also find loads of cult classics adored by beauty experts, like Sunday Riley Good Genes, an exfoliating, skin-renewing treatment, Arkive The Good Hybrid Hair Oil, created by celebrity hairdresser Adam Reed, and Dr Barbara Sturm Face Cream, a favourite with A-listers.
“Of course, you’re not going to get a pricey product behind every door, and the high end names are balanced out by high street brands like Revolution, Cetaphil and e.l.f.
“It’s also not the advent calendar with the biggest saving ( LookFantastic’s, for example, is a similar price but is worth over £500).
“But I think lots of people, including myself, will be genuinely thrilled by the majority of the products inside, which is why this gets a big thumbs up from me.”
What is the price of the ASOS 2023 beauty advent calendar?
This year’s advent calendar from ASOS costs £90, with its content worth £397 – that’s a saving of 77%.
If you sign up to ASOS Premier, you’ll also get next day delivery on all orders over £15. ASOS Premier costs £6.95 for the year, but it may be worth it if you end up leaving your Christmas shopping until the last minute!
