Half time thoughts

Burnley can count themselves really unlucky to be behind at half-time, as they were arguably the better team for the majority of the first 45 minutes. Vincent Kompany’s side kept to the style and played some great football, notably from the likes of Josh Brownhill, Aaron Ramsey and Luca Koleosho, and even hit the post when Zeki Amdouni’s shot rebounded off the woodwork.

The one bit of quality from United though is the difference between the two sides. Surprise starter Jonny Evans – who already had a goal ruled out by VAR – sent a long ball into the box and it was finished with aplomb by Bruno Fernandes on the volley. The captain leading by example, just when Erik ten Hag needs him.
