Benidorm star Asa Elliott’s life now from career change to fatherhood

Benidorm was a massive part of the Noughties for many Brits and now it's on Netflix its even reaching an International audience.

Characters including Mick and Janice Harvey and their family kept us entertained with their exploits at the Solana Hotel while on their all-inclusive holidays on the ITV programme.

But it wasn't only the quirky characters on sun-soaked breaks that made us laugh and captivated us, the hotel also played host to Cabaret singers every night.

There were even entertainers and the cast stood up on stage to perform their own karaoke.

Here we look at what one of the most popular crooners, Asa Elliott, is up to now, 5 years after the show ended…

Family life

Asa is married to wife Natalie and they have two children together. They welcomed Rockie last October and already have Buddy, two.

A delighted Natalie posted on Twitter after their new arrival: "Our littlest Elliott, she’s going to be a Rockstar. 8lb 8.5oz of pure sass."

Meanwhile, Asa shared a name reveal video clip which was inspired by the flick Rocky starring Sylvester Stallone. The doting father regularly posts sweet snaps of his family life on his Instagram page.

Benidorm

Asa's success on Benidorm meant he went on to appear in Benidorm Live from 2018-2019.

Derren Litten, who created the hit show, scouted Asa for his cast while he was working in the sunny location as a singer.

The star revealed that he hadn't fully considered how big a deal it was to be working on the series at the time. It's only when he reminisces on it that he realises what a huge show it was.

People are still finding Asa on social media as Benidorm makes a resurgence on platforms like Netflix and Twitter- and he loves it.

Career outside Benidorm

Asa had a temporary break from singing on cruise ships during the pandemic after travel was grounded by lockdown.

Instead, he worked as a delivery driver for ASDA, starting the job two weeks after his first child was born.

Asa told Hull Daily Mail: "At the beginning of the lockdown the work was drying up for obvious reasons and I thought to myself, 'I'm not going to be sat around on my hands for this'.

"I got a job with my local shop in Kingswood doing deliveries for them and I helped out at the local vaccination centres as a volunteer steward.”

He added: "I look back and I just think 'what a difference a year can make'. This time last year I was making my deliveries, and enjoying it, but now I'm back on the boats."

Last year, he went to St Lucia and Barbados on ships, entertaining thousands of cruise goers.
