Coronation Street horror for Evelyn Plummer as she’s held hostage

Coronation Street: Asha appears embarrassed by Nina

Coronation Street’s Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) is set to have the shock of her life when she is held hostage by crook Terry after interfering with his dog. Official spoilers reveal she is set to cause more issues for herself when she steals his dog.

In upcoming scenes, Hope Dobbs (Isabelle Flanagan) and Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor) fuss over the new dog and reveal they have named her Taylor, after singer Taylor Swift. Terry corners Evelyn in the precinct but she denies knowing anything about his dog going missing.

Walking back from the precinct, Evelyn is terrified to see Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) taking Taylor out for a walk. Worried about Terry seeing them, she bundles them back into the house but is unaware that he is already watching from across the street.

Furious, Terry tracks down Evelyn to the shop and flips the sign to “closed” and bolts the door shut.

Terry menacingly advances on Evelyn demanding to know what she’s done with his dog, leaving her in fear.

Walking past, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) finds the door locked he enlists Gary Windass (Mickey North) to help him break the door open, will they be in time?

Will Terry harm Evelyn just weeks before Christmas or will she put up a fight?

Actress Maureen Lipman recently opened up about her ongoing storyline and told Metro.co.uk: “He threatens Evelyn twice and he is pretty dangerous and thuggish.

“Evelyn’s obviously scared to her boots but she’s not admitting that. When he threatens to hurt Tyrone if she continues it is a real dilemma as she is so fond of Tyrone.

“She realises she has to take a step back to protect her family. I know the RSPCA has been involved with advising.”

She also admitted that Evelyn and Cassie’s rift begins to come back once again and added: “I can tell you that that does not last because Cassie is a chip off the old block.

“But to some degree an extended version of Evelyn and she goes too far and that endangers Evelyn’s life and gets her into more trouble.

“Blood is thicker than water in Coronation Street but they do fall out over this, even though they are in it together, simply because she goes farther than Evelyn would have done.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
