James Haskell seen making tense phone call as he returns to work for the first time since Chloe Madeley split | The Sun

JAMES Haskell has been spotted making a tense phone call as he returned to work.

The former sports star was seen leaving G Live Guildford as he returned to his job for the first time since he split from Chloe Madeley.

James, 38, was seen locked in a tense conversation as he held his iPhone to his right ear.

He looked downcast after he appeared by the window of the arts studio at the recording of his podcast with pals.

The TV personality was making a new instalment of World Cup After Party: The Good, the Bad and The Rugby with fellow ex international teammate Mike Tindall and broadcaster Alex Payne.

He was dressed in a casual blue t-shirt with orange details as he attempted to remain low-key in a complimentary cap.

This comes as James and Chloe were revealed to have spent hours in couples therapy before they decided to end their marriage.

They had been married for five years before they announced they were separating in a joint statement.

The daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan previously spoke about their marriage struggle on her ITV2 reality show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.

She said that their relationship came under strain during the Covid lockdowns in 2020, leaving them seeking professional help.

"We went through a really hard time in lockdown – our marriage was really quite tested," she said.

"It's not much better now!" James added.

"I know, still in hell," Chloe replied, adding: "We did couple's therapy at the time.

"I think it was my way of easing my anxiety about the fact people thought we were an amazing couple, but we were a very tempestuous couple and we'd go through some really hard times."

However, just months before the split announcement the former rugby ace was spotted cosying up to another woman.

He appeared in good spirits as a female fan gazed adoringly at him and placed a hand on his chest.

In a second picture, the pair laughed while standing outside in the snow as he was booked to DJ at an event in popular ski resort in Morzine.
