Loose Women: Coleen says Ruth looks like a brillo pad
Coleen Nolan took a cheeky swipe at Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford over her outfit. On Tuesday’s instalment of the ITV chatshow, the panelists were discussing whether or not older people are portrayed unfairly on TV. Giving her opinion, Coleen admitted: “When I turned 50 I instantly felt invisible. And even now – “
Ruth cut in to ask: “What, in that jacket?” referencing Coleen’s bright green blazer. “Well, that’s why I’m wearing it, at least I don’t look like a brillo pad,” Coleen replied, taking aim of Ruth’s outfit.
“Touché, touché,” Ruth commented as the audience laughed.
Janet Street-Porter added: “I said before we came on air that Ruth’s shirt reminds me of the great new scourer I’ve got, three for one at the supermarket.”
Ruth stood up to show viewers her gray top as her co-stars laughed on. “That’s what I have to put up with, people, it’s bullying in the workplace!” She remarked.

“Honestly Ruth, your outfit proves you can wear anything because it looks great,” Janet added.
The duo are often at loggerheads with each other and make jokey snipes on the programme.
In a recent episode, the group discussed dealing with “flaky friends” who cancel plans.
“If you genuinely promise and something happens that’s OK, it’s the people that I call flakies… we’ve all got a flaky friend,” Ruth commented.

“And they go, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah let’s do that,’ and in the back of your mind, you’re thinking, ‘They’re not going to.'”
Turning to Janet Street-Porter, Ruth announced: “I don’t think you’d be flaky.”
“Why don’t you just look me in the eyes Ruth and say?” Coleen cut in.
Ruth placed a hand on her co-star and smiled as Coleen added: “They’re trying to not make eye contact with me!”
“All the years I’ve known Coleen, we’ve only been out once,” Janet chimed.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
