Sophie Turner breaks silence on nasty divorce from Joe Jonas amid claims her ‘partying’ led singer to file papers | The Sun

SOPHIE Turner has confirmed her divorce from Joe Jonas after four years of marriage.

The news broke earlier this week that the Jonas Brothers star filed for divorce from the Game Of Thrones actress.

Now Sophie, 27, has come forward with an official statement regarding the couple's decision to split ways.

The TV star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a message in black writing on a white background.

The mother of two wrote: "Statement from the two of us: 'After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.

"'There are many speculative narratives as to why but truly, this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.'"

Sophie left her post captionless and turned off the comments.

Joe, 34, took to his own Instagram profile to share the same exact message, also turning off the comment feature.

The Disney Channel alum stated in legal documents filed on September 5: "The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."

On Tuesday it was revealed that the couple had reportedly lived in an unhappy home before they split amid claims that the English actress lives a partying lifestyle.

Sources claimed that the Cake By The Ocean singer never wanted to separate and that divorce was a "last resort."

“Divorce was a last resort for Joe," an insider told Page Six.

"He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls."

Joe and Sophie share two daughters — Willa, three, and a one-year-old whose name was recorded as "D.J." in divorce filings.

The source went on: "An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year.

"There’s a lot of noise out there, but it wasn’t a straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back situation like it’s being reported.

“It just kept building, and Joe finally reached a point where he felt that he had exhausted all options to salvage the marriage."

Another source added to TMZ: "She likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles."

DIVORCE FILINGS

The famous pair – who married in 2019 – have a prenuptial agreement and Joe has been looking for a lawyer for at least a week.

According to The Blast, the prenuptial agreement stated that Joe would “keep all of his royalties from the music” with his siblings, while Sophie would keep the money she made from Game Of Thrones as well as “any residuals from her acting career.”

The homes that they bought before getting married will remain with their rightful owner.

Joe is said to be repped by Tom Sasser, who handled pro golfer Tiger Woods' infamous divorce from Elin Nordegren.

SHOCKING SPLIT

Over the weekend, fans were left stunned after a report claimed Joe and Sophie's marriage was rocky.

At the time, insiders told TMZ the pair had been facing problems for at least six months.

Sources also claimed that over the last three, Joe had been caring for their kids "pretty much all of the time."

Joe — who normally resides in Los Angeles with Sophie — is currently on tour with his brothers Nick and Kevin, and the outlet revealed their children are with him in Miami.
