Kristen Bell, Ted Danson Comedy ‘The Good Place’ Renewed For Season 4 By NBC

Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason will get some more time to become better people in order to work their way into heaven — The Good Place has been renewed for a fourth season by NBC.

The quirky comedy — starring Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto, and D’Arcy Carden — is currently winding down its 13-episode Season 3, and the network’s early pickup of the series for the 2019 to 2020 television season means they are really committed to this critically-acclaimed program.

“Congratulations to [series creator] Mike Schur and an exceptional cast and crew, all of whom collaborate to create a thoughtful, mind-bending, and hysterical series unlike anything else on television. We can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the new season will bring,” said Tracey Pakosta and Lisa Katz, the co-presidents of NBC Entertainment’s Scripted Programming division, according to a network press release published on the Futon Critic website on Tuesday, December 4.

Several of the actors in the show’s ensemble expressed their joy about the series renewal on social media.

“So forking grateful to have a 4th season of [The Good Place],” Bell said on Instagram.

“This show is a dream come true and I absolutely love working with all the lovely people who make it happen. Holy shirt!”

She added two fun emojis at the end of her message — the collision symbol and the one showing raised hands.

The accompanying picture was a cast photo that she adorned with rainbow and purple heart stickers.

“Grateful 4 another season with these 4king guys. Soul Squad 4ever,” TV veteran Danson wrote on Twitter.

Jacinto retweeted Danson’s post and added four smiling face with halo emojis.

NBC said that The Good Place is averaging 4.6 million viewers overall with “live plus seven day” figures, and has the most highly-educated audience of any primetime series on the Big 4 networks, which includes ABC, CBS, and Fox.

The funny series, which debuted in 2016, has been nominated for numerous awards, including Primetime Emmy nods for Danson (Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series) and Maya Rudolph (Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series) in 2018.

It has won multiple Critics’ Choice Television Awards, an American Film Institute Award, a Hugo Award, and a TCA Award.

NBC has not yet stated how many episodes there will be in Season 4 of The Good Place, but the first three seasons each had only 13 half-hour shows.

The Season 3 fall finale will air on Thursday, December 6. The remaining episodes are expected to air in January.

The Flash 100th Ep Ends With Big Nora Bombshell

Well well well, Nora WestAllen. What are you up to?

Tonight’s 100th episode of The Flash turned out to be a little more than just a trip back in time. It also revealed a few important things that will likely be a pretty big deal for this show at some point. Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) is secretly working with Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh, 1/7), who’s stuck in a prison cell in the future. It seems like she’s been sending him messages through her journal, which is all written in a time language she invented—the same symbol-filled language Barry was writing in when he came back from the Speed Force last season. Apparently, whatever’s written in it won’t change even if the timeline does, and she’s been sending messages written in that language to some mysterious recipient.

Nora’s involvement with Thawne is a pretty big deal for the series, as the cast told us during the episode’s celebration party.

“The teaser at the end is gonna rock the season and the series, being that Eobard Thawne is not only around still, but potentially working with Nora in some capacity,” Grant Gustin told us, though the show hasn’t broached the subject again in the episodes that have been filmed so far. “I can only imagine it’s gonna be pretty ugly.”

Everything We Know About the 2018 CW Superhero Crossover

“There’s a lot of mystery surrounding Nora and what her intentions really are, who she’s working with, why she’s really come back to the past to visit everyone, so I feel like this is kind of the set up for the rest of the season in dealing with that,” Candice Patton told us, adding that she can’t wait to find out how it affects Iris and her newly repaired relationship with her daughter.

Tom Cavanagh, who also directed the episode, claimed it’s a good thing for the show to know that Thawne is still wreaking havoc.

“I think that Batman works best when Joker could show up, or Lex Luthor could show up for Superman,” he said. “And for us, having the shadow of Reverse Flash as the arch enemy somewhere near Barry or just coming over him, I think that’s a good thing for our show, and also for my bank account.”

Executive producer Todd Helbing confirmed that Thawne “starts to play a bigger part in the back half of the season.”

“We’ll explain why he’s working with Nora and why she went to him and what their relationship really is,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun.”

The CW

As for the time travel tonight, we couldn’t even begin to explain to you exactly why this trip was needed. Cicada’s power-dampening dagger is made of dark matter, and the team needed a power-dampening dagger power dampener to get the dagger away from him, so they had to go get a piece of Savitar’s suit and Zoom’s speed force transmitter, then store the new power-dampening dagger dampener at the hospital where they knew Cicada could be found.

On the way, the speed force transmitter got broken, and they had to go track down Eobard Thawne to fix it, which led to a fun awkward scene in the time vault. Past Barry was unconscious on the floor, and Eobard couldn’t get over the fact that Nora wasn’t Dawn, the WestAllen kid he remembered (and the name of Barry’s daughter in the comics, alongside her cruelly named twin brother, Don).

In the end, the dagger dampener did work, but only for a hot second. Cicada quickly retrieved his dagger and escaped, so it was all for nothing. But it was fun, at least.

And just in case anyone else was confused by Sherloque’s reaction to Nora and the use of the phrase “clever girl,” just like Thawne, Sherloque is not Thawne. He is his own (annoying) dude, but you’d be forgiven for thinking/hoping there was something more nefarious going on with him.

Hit play on the video above for more from the cast, and for everything we know about the crossover after that last tag, we got you!

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, though next week’s crossover episode will air on Sunday at 8 p.m. on the CW.

ABC Radio Brisbane juggles breakfast hosts as audience share declines

ABC Brisbane Radio has changed its morning co-presenters for 2019, proving it is under as much pressure as commercial radio networks as its audience share declines.

Experienced Brisbane radio news reporter and news director Loretta Ryan is the biggest winner of the ABC's reshuffle for 2019.

The ABC’s new breakfast co-hosts for 2019; Loretta Ryan and Craig Zonca.

The ABC announced on Wednesday weekend host Ryan would take the breakfast co-presenter’s spot with Craig Zonca for 2019.

Zonca and Rebecca Levingston have been split after their first year as breakfast co-hosts as the ABC’s overall audience share has halved since 2015, with Levingston to shift to the later morning slot.

Ryan worked at Triple M for 16 years, eventually becoming that radio network’s news director, before shifting to 4BH, then 4BC, where she was 4BC’s morning show co-host.

Ryan joined the ABC in 2015.

Levingston will present the ABC’s morning radio show from 8.30am to 11am.

The ABC’s acting regional director Judith Whelan said the change allowed Levingston to cover more local news issues.

“Brisbane is a lifestyle city and there’s a greater demand for local news, weather and traffic information earlier in the day,” Ms Whelan said.

“It means we can be part of the news and conversations happening right across our city.”

ABC Brisbane local general manager Simon Scoble said the ABC's research showed the audience was not clear about why the "double-header" breakfast presenters returned after the national AM current affairs program from 8am to 8.30am.

The ABC combined the breakfast and morning shows in 2018.

"We wanted to have a stronger editorial focus on local issues around the city and we believe Rebecca is the right person to have a more detailed look at issues in and around Brisbane," he said.

Back in 2015, the ABC’s total audience share was 12.6, while in the second-last survey of 2018 its total Queensland audience share was 6.8 per cent, according to GfK radio survey results.

It increased to 7.4 per cent in the final survey for the year.

According to the November 2018 survey results the ABC Queensland’s total overall audience share was declining, even among people aged 65 and over.

Brisbane’s November 2018 AM band radio audience share.

However in the same month Zonca and Levingston increased their personal audience share by 0.9 percentage points to 9.9 per cent, putting ABC’s breakfast team in fourth place.

The rest of ABC’s Brisbane line-up for 2019 remains the same as 2018.

From 11am, the hour-long ABC’s Conversations program returns, hosted by Richard Fidler and Sarah Kanowski.

Broadcast reporter Hamish MacDonald will present Conversations until March 2019, while Fidler is on leave.

Myf Warhust keeps her music arts program from 12.30pm to 2pm, Katherine Feeney stays in the mid-afternoon from 2pm to 4pm, followed by Steve Austin’s Drive program from 4pm and Kelly Higgins-Devine from 7pm to 10pm.

The changes begin on January 21.

I'm a Celebrity's Dec Donnelly mocks Nick Knowles' weird comment about eviction

I’m a Celebrity presenter Dec Donnelly’s favourite comedy target this series seems to be Nick Knowles.

Whether it’s joking about using the DIY SOS presenter’s music album as a table-stand or mocking Nick’s now-infamous jam session with Biffy Clyro, Dec clearly finds Nick’s bumbling quite hilarious.

This continued during Tuesday’s show (December 4) when Nick, Harry Redknapp and Emily Atack turned up at the Bushtucker trial site to take in the crab, spider and crocodile-infested Wicked Warehouse.

Since the trial took place mere moments after Sair Khan had been evicted from the jungle, Dec and Holly Willoughby asked how the campers were feeling.

“Really good,” Nick assured them.

A surprised Emily gave Nick some serious side-eye, before interjecting: “Well, sad…”

“Well yeah, really good and sad as well,” an oblivious Nick doubled-down.

That answer caused the hosts to burst out laughing, with Dec turning the knife a bit on poor Sair as he quipped: “Glad to see the back of her!”

Nick smiled: “Magnificent to get rid of Sair, no, we’re all feeling really good because we had a good feed yesterday but obviously Sair has gone and it freaks you out when someone leaves camp.”

Nick’s awkward moment definitely had viewers chuckling:

As for the trial itself, Nick definitely got his comeuppance when he was covered with spiders, crabs, a cane toad, a crocodile and other jungle creatures. In the end, the team won all eight stars for camp!

But Sair had the best revenge, since she was likely enjoying a nice meal at a local restaurant while the others dined on buffalo sausages.

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues on Wednesday (December 5) at 9pm on ITV, followed by Extra Camp directly after on ITV2.

I'm a Celebrity fans notice a trend with eliminations

We’re at that point in the current series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! where the contestants are dropping like flies.

As of tonight’s (December 4) episode, four campmates have left the jungle: Noel Edmonds was first, followed by Malique Thompson-Dwyer, Sair Khan and now Rita Simons.

But have you noticed a link between the latest three eliminees? A handful of sleuths on Twitter have:

Yep, the first three eliminations where all campmates could be voted for (Noel was one of only two celebs eligible when he was voted out) all led to a soap star getting the boot.

When this year’s line-up was announced, we were thrilled at the lack of reality TV stars and not one or two, but three soap stars. It looks like the voting public doesn’t feel the same way, though.

Conspiracy theories have also run rampant on social media about each eviction, with viewers claiming behind-the-scenes feuding and producer meddling had a hand in the previous three leaving.

ITV has denied those conspiracy theories, while Dec Donnelly has mocked them both on social media and directly on-air during I’m a Celebrity episodes in recent nights. Will more fix theories pop up?

Find out when I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues on Wednesday (December 5) at 9pm on ITV, followed by Extra Camp directly after on ITV2.

Sarah Hyland Takes Social Media Break Due to Trolls' 'Horrible,' 'Ignorant Words' Following Cousin's Tragic Death

Sarah Hyland is taking a break from social media following the tragic death of her 14-year-old cousin Trevor Canaday.

The Modern Family star announced Monday evening that her decision to temporarily step away from using any of her social media accounts was a result of the “horrible negative ignorant words” that Internet trolls commented in relation to Canaday, who was killed late Saturday night in Omaha, Nebraska, in an alleged drunk driving accident.

“You guys finally did it. Your horrible negative ignorant words have broken me. Happy?” she wrote on Twitter.

“Staying offline for a while. I have a special announcement and video releasing on Wednesday I believe. So. There’s that,” Hyland, 28, concluded.

Also on her Instagram Story Monday evening, she posted the emoji of the hand giving the peace sign.

Earlier Monday, she called for those with “negative thoughts or opinions about the tragedy that happened to my family, to keep them to themselves. You don’t know all the details. And how dare you attack when a beautiful life has been lost.”

Over the weekend, the actress announced on social media that Canaday “was killed by a drunk driver.” She said her uncle, who was also in the car, “is still in the hospital in need of more surgeries.”

According to police documents obtained by PEOPLE, the driver Jeffrey Eggeling had a blood alcohol concentration of .103. (The legal limit for driving under the influence is .08.)

“The driver of the at-fault vehicle, who was later identified as Jeffrey Eggeling, left the scene of the collision on foot,” the police report states. “The collision resulted in two individuals from the other involved vehicle suffering life-threatening injuries. Eggeling was located on foot a short distance from the collision scene.”

According to the police report, the officers could smell “the odor of alcoholic beverage” on Eggeling, who also had “slurred speech” at the time.

The police report states that the collision caused Canaday to be ejected from the vehicle. He later died after being transported to a local hospital. His father, who was also in the car, suffered head and facial injuries during the crash and is still recovering.

Eggeling was originally booked into Douglas County Corrections for leaving the scene of a personal injury collision and two counts of DUI serious bodily injury; however, since Canaday died, additional charges are still pending.

Along with Hyland’s message about her cousin’s death, she provided a link to a GoFundMe page set up by his mom Becky and sisters Tessa and Zoee to raise money for funeral and medical costs.

“Bryan, is recovering physically, but sadly Trevor has gained his wings and is singing and playing some crazy football in heaven. Trevor was a funny, smart, innovative, athletic, goofy kid and he was so loved,” the page reads. “His memory will live on in many ways. Please help us do this for the family now to help ease their suffering away from money to focus on healing emotionally.”
