I got sick of the cold air seeping in my uninsulated windows – I noticed an immediate difference with a $10 Amazon buy | The Sun

AMAZON shoppers raved about a $10 find that stopped the cold from seeping in through their windows.

Many shared their tried and true testimonials for the simple and affordable product.

For many who grew tired of rising electricity bills due to the cold seeping in through their homes, they turned to DIY solutions.

A $10 weather stripping tape sold on Amazon offered a solution to their woes.

Over 6,000 people shared rave reviews about the product, noting how efficient it was at sealing cracks from window air conditioning and keeping the outside air out.

One woman from Texas was shocked by how effective and fast-acting the tape was.

"I live in Texas where they build buildings only for summer heat and didn’t think to insulate (I’m from the north)," she said.

"I got sick of the cold breeze from my windows, woke up to thick frost and my heat wouldn’t get higher than 61 degrees.

"First I put up blankets but that messes with the aesthetic in my living room so I decided to try these.

"After installing I noticed an immediate difference. The cold breeze was gone (as long as I applied correctly) and my heat wasn’t running as much (which is fantastic cause I prefer a low electric bill)," she said.

She shared tips for using the tape in the winter cold: "Also the tape doesn’t stick to frost. I removed the frost with a spray bottle, hot water, and isopropyl alcohol," she said.

Others agreed that the tape was effective as advertised but noted there was a caveat.

"The tape is very sticky and it provides a good seal, however, it does not come off in one piece and leaves a residue that is hard to remove," said another reviewer.

"If you don't plan on removing it, you will be happy. Otherwise, plan on spending some time removing the tape and residue."
