Coronation Street pictures: Another death tragedy as an era ends forever

Coronation Street pictures for next week confirm much more drama for the residents of the cobbles, with a few shocks thrown in for good measure.

The aftermath of Leo’s death sends shockwaves through the street, with Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) keen to get in touch with Teddy, thinking it’s odd that she’s not heard from him about the funeral arrangements.

Stephen, however, is quick to suggest that they go on holiday and forget about everything, but Jenny’s attention is soon elsewhere when she receives a visit from Waterford’s manager, who reveals the pub is being closed for a refurbishment.

To complicate matters further, Jenny’s contract – and those of her staff – are terminated with immediate effect.

Elsewhere, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) receives a message telling him that his filter dropped out during the livestream – and one of his subscribers recognised him from the papers as ‘the guy who suffered an acid attack’.

Ryan denies it, but reporter Suki approaches and reveals that she’s seen screen grabs from his porn videos and proceeds to ask him if he’s interested in a story.

Ryan is horrified, declining the offer, but as he heads to the Rovers for lunch, he comes to realise that a number of the punters are talking about him, having seen the article in the gazette.

And finally, the day of Shelly’s funeral arrives, and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) confronts her brother Kieran, who refused to support Shelly when she was dying.

A heated showdown ensues during the service, with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) – who is conducting the service – trying to intervene, but he ends up getting accidentally punched in the face.

Never a dull moment on the Street!

Coronation Street airs these scenes between Monday, September 25 and Friday, September 29 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
