TV presenter and journalist Eamonn Holmes has delighted fans on social media after he revealed he would once again be returning to his position on GB News in the new year.
The 63 year old presenting veteran caused concern among viewers in recent months, after he opened up about his battle with chronic pain, and revealed that he would be undergoing a number of treatments to help combat the “soul-destroying” pain he experienced on a daily basis.
Among some of his most recent ailments are a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve, two extremely painful conditions.
However, in good news, Eamonn has now revealed he will once again be returning to the GB News studio in January.
Sharing the news with fans on social media, the broadcaster shared a smiling selfie from the Westminster studio, as he wrote: "Been to my GB News studio today to make sure I can cope with mobility. All good.
"The comeback is on for Monday 9th January ! Hope u can join me.”
After hearing the news, countless fans rushed to wish him well, with many celebrating the return of one of their favourite TV stars.
One fan commented: "So pleased you will be back on our screens doing what you do best."
Another added: "Glad to hear you’re coming back on our screens. Happy new year to you and Ruth, wishing you health & happiness in 2023."
A third shared: "Really good to see you feeling a lot better. Will be tuning in to see you back on our screens. Happy & Healthy New Year to you, Eamon, Ruth & your Family.”
However, despite the good news, Eamonn also revealed he still had a long way to go on his journey tor recovery, as he replied to pal and S Club 7 singer Jo O’Meara ’s well wishes of: "Ahhh that’s lovely to hear.”
A cautious Eamonn then replied: "Not fixed yet Jo ….. but I think working will help a lot x”.
Fans had expressed their worry after wife Ruth Langsford posted a Christmas video without her husband by her side.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, are usually inseparable but the video posted without Eamonn caused fans to worry, with many quizzing Ruth on how he was doing.
Saturday’s GB News announcement comes just days after Eamonn updated fans on his progress so far, with the star opening up about his health earlier this week.
Taking to Twitter, the ex- This Morning co-host told his 1 million followers: "Worked hard at my physio this morning. Very tiring but I've now sat on my backside for 5 hours and feel bad about doing nothing…"
With a sad faced emoji, the telly star added: "….. lack of mobility & depending on others stops me doing really simple things. For peace of mind I feel another round of foot exercises coming on".
Eamonn shared the worrying update following his recent back operation in a bid to ease his "chronic pain".
Eamonn has had a tough time of things this year with his chronic pain, and he suffered a major setback after a horrific fall down the stairs of his Surrey home in November, leaving him with a fractured shoulder.
He was in the midst of recovering from spinal surgery when the incident happened and he had to undergo yet another surgery within the space of just weeks as a result.
