I’m a mum & can make a chaotic dump meal in a bowl with one hand while holding my kid in the other – it tastes good too | The Sun

A MUM has shared the chaotic dump meal that she can easily whip up to feed her family when she is in a rush.

The savvy mum shared her budget friendly recipe in a TikTok video online.

Alex said: “My favourite dump meal! Rice chicken and veggies casserole is so easy with a packet of seasoning and my kids ALL eat it! Low prep meals are my current era."

The busy mum shows the dish is so easy to make she holds her daughter on her hip and makes it with just one hand.

She said: “Five minutes of prep. $6 and seven ingredients. Let's make supper. This is probably my favourite."

The savvy mum starts with one cup of rice in a casserole dish.

“One cup of parboiled rice. Can you use another rice? Probably. Don't use minute rice. It's gonna melt. I like parboiled rice.”

Next Alex adds frozen veg.

“You want frozen veggies? I like to use about three cups. If you use the mixed veggie bag, use about half the bag. But we usually have. And I have a bunch of random stuff.”

For seasonings Alex adds a packet of onion soup, garlic powder and a tablespoon of soy sauce.

“One packet of onion soup mix. Garlic powder to taste. You can add pepper if you like, but don't add salt. There's already enough. Cause you're supposed to put a tablespoon of soy sauce.”

Lastly Alex adds to cups of water and some cubes of butter.

“Two cups of water. With some chunks of butter.”

The savvy mum says this meal is great for using up leftover meat like like chicken.

“ We had chicken thighs for supper last night. This part is optional. All that rice that you like that has chicken and vegetables in it. So you can use any type of leftover meat that you have. Leftover hamburger, leftover rotisserie chicken. You can use a can of chickpeas. Just veggie chop it up.”

Then Alex cooks the dish for 40 minutes.

She said: “Cover for 40 minutes, 400 degrees.

After the meals was cooked Alex showed her followers the finished dish.

She said: “Here it is. It's been out For a little bit. I already took the kids portions out. Super easy, super low budget. Always good.”
